“The Tree Wedding”: Bringing the Outdoors In
A behind-the-scenes look at “The Tree Wedding” at The Belle Haven Club. Learn how we transformed a simple tent into a magical forest wonderland.
We want everyone to love flowers as much as we do! From workshops to weddings, our mission is to bring joy to your floral experience.
While we do work with traditional wholesalers and markets, we put every effort into supporting locally grown blooms and showcasing them in each piece of our floral artistry. We create workshops and wedding designs that encompass the season’s most lovely stems from blooms to berries and branches or grasses. Customized palettes are designed selectively for each event reflecting your favorites. Each design element from the arbor to the bouquet is meant to incorporate the unique nature of your story. Whether you’re at a workshop with friends or saying “I do” at a vine-filled winery, historical mansion, or seaside inn, we’ll guide you through the floral design possibilities to enhance your day at any style venue, in any season.
We will travel locally in New England, but only for full service custom weddings. Reach out to see if we are available to take our team on site and design for your big day. Additional travel costs will be applied based on location, number of delivery vehicles and staff required to service your full scale event.
Every wedding is different based on each couple’s unique plans, number of guests and flower wish list. We carefully price each event based on the needs of the day including a culmination of the total goods needed, the time and staff necessary to complete the work, the difficulty of the piece or pieces, the distance to the venue, the season, the colors and types of blooms involved in creating the look you desire, as well as any vehicle rentals and accommodations necessary to install the work.
There is no certain formula for budgeting as everyone’s plans and needs are unique. The average bride and groom spend roughly 10% of their total wedding budget on flowers. At Barn Door Blooms, we want to work with you and your budget and will come up with creative ways to guide you along and prioritize spending based on your designs. Typical full-service weddings start at $4,000 which will include in person design consultation, vendor collaborations, delivery and onsite installations. We offer studio pick ups for smaller events based on availability.
No, we are not a full-scale flower farm and cannot offer DIY flower buckets. You can always try looking into local farms which can provide you with a DIY combo package.
We do not offer traditional retail arrangements, but our friends do! Check out local retail shops near you.
We offer “just the bouquet” services for those looking for wedding floral design starting at $500. We do not sell individual bouquets outside of our wedding services.
We offer wreath workshops where you can purchase tickets to design your own mixed evergreen wreath or kits for purchase which include all of the supplies and a special video to teach you each step of the process. Check out our holiday offerings! Or contact us to host your own private wreath workshop.
We are proud members of the Connecticut Flower Collective and work closely with local farms to provide the freshest local blooms available. As members, we are always abreast of what crops are thriving each season. We are tuned in to the threat of frosts on fields in October and the amount of rain in the spring waiting for tulips and peonies. Each season we’ll keep you informed about what’s available and ready for your unique designs.
With 20 plus years of event experience, we understand all of the elements required to design, plan and execute your wedding floral design plans. We love flowers, we love getting to know our clients personally and we’ll put all of our team’s strengths together to bring you an excellent floral design experience from start to finish. Selecting your vendors is an important part of enjoying a stress-free wedding and we’re honored to be part of your day.
